Calling

Jesus said to them: “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Today is a special Sunday. Not only is it the conclusion of our series “Christianity Explored,” we also celebrate “Pentecost” today. The day when the Holy Spirit was poured out on believers as promised by Jesus. Those filled by the Spirit were radically different in their pursuit of their calling. From scary cats hidden in an upper room to a bold proclamation of the resurrected Jesus to same people who killed Jesus.

“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”

 What is your calling?

What is God’s call on your life?

How do you articulate God's call on your life?

Is calling only reserved for people of the cloth: pastors / evangelists and missionaries?

A true follower of Christ is someone who clearly sees what it will cost to follow Jesus, but does it joyfully anyway knowing that Jesus is worth infinitely more. How do you get to this point of entrusting your identity to Jesus and let his call define your life purpose? The answer is simple: Secret Spaces. Join us this month as we seek him together daily together (Tuesday to Friday 6-7pm), as we learn more of prayer (see flyer), as we join with other churches tonight at Billabong. But above all, grow your intimacy with Him as you seek him daily through Scripture and prayer. It won’t disappoint.

“Who is your witness pointing to?”
